Welcome to Mosaic PDX

Why Mosaic?

A mosaic is beautiful not in spite of its broken pieces, but because of them. Its power isn't in uniformity - it's in the way distinct pieces come together to create something whole.

Our communities are the same.

Each of us carries our own histories, languages, traditions, wounds, and gifts. Different perspectives, different lived experiences, different ways of seeing and caring for the world.

Individually, those pieces hold meaning.
Together, they hold power.

When we create space to see one another, to share resources, and to build together, something larger begins to take shape — a community that is more connected, more resilient, and more alive.

What is Mosaic PDX, really?

In a time of disconnection, algorithm fatigue, and disappearing third spaces, Mosaic started as a response to questions like:

  • Where can I find BIPOC-centered nightlife or sober events in Portland?
  • As a creative, how can I share my event, offering, or creative work?
  • Can you recommend a Black male therapist or a queer therapist?
  • What community organizations are already doing the work — and how do we build in collaboration instead of individually?
  • If social media went down tomorrow, how would we find each other?

The Mosaic PDX is the hub for BIPOC community life in Portland:

  • It's not just an event page.
  • It's not just a directory.
  • It's not just a nonprofit.

Mosaic PDX is the labor of love - BIPOC-centered, culturally-grounded, and intentionally built for the community, by the community.
